About
Heike Moras is an independent contemporary art advisor, curator, and author based in New York. She was the founder and director of HMA Salon, a contemporary art space in London, where emerging and established artists could exhibit, discuss and promote their art away from the white cube format of the conventional art environment.
Heike received a Master’s in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute in London and is the distinguished author of a dissertation on the Cuban Contemporary Art Market Structure.
Heike divides her time between New York and Miami. She continues to use her expertise and strong academic background to advise on setting up and managing contemporary art collections. Whether buying for investment, passion, or both, clients benefit from carefully cultivated relationships with dealers, collectors, and artists that facilitate the acquisition of sought-after works.
Heike cares deeply about de-constructing the rigid institutionalism that plague major art centers and co-ordinates exchanges between young galleries, non-profit organizations and forward-looking art patrons. She also serves as ambassador to several international mid-career artists whose work she tirelessly promotes.
As the founder and director of Visit Art (www.visit-art.com) Heike produces a monthly art exhibition guide for the Miami and Palm Beach areas. She proudly serves on the board of the American Friends for Whitechapel Gallery in London.
